VW and Audi 2.0 TDI repair and rebuild
The 2.0 TDI is one of the most common diesel engines on UK roads, fitted to the Golf, Passat, Tiguan, Audi A3, A4, Skoda Octavia and SEAT Leon. Different versions have different weak points. Earlier PD engines suffer camshaft and follower wear, while later common rail engines can suffer oil pump drive failure, stretched timing chains and turbocharger problems. High mileage examples often need injector and dual mass flywheel attention too.

How this engine fails
Oil pump drive failure on the common rail engines is the big one. The balancer shaft drive can wear and fail, starving the engine of oil and wrecking the bottom end. Camshaft wear on PD engines shows as rough running and poor starting. A failing turbo whistles, smokes and eventually sheds its bearings. Caught early, many of these faults are repairable without a full rebuild. Left too late, the engine usually needs one.

We dismantle the engine and record a video inspection of every component. You see exactly what failed and why before you spend a penny on parts. Then you approve a fixed written quote.
Rebuild with OEM parts
Our engineers rebuild the engine with OEM parts and photograph every stage. The photographic rebuild report becomes your record of the work and supports your warranty and the vehicle’s resale value.
Test certified and returned
